Two Sisters on a Mission to Redefine Aging

I'm Catherine (54), and this is my sister Margaret (58).

We started Sylairé because we were tired of being ignored.

Walk into any beauty store and you'll see products targeting 20-somethings. Scroll through Instagram and it's all about anti-aging—as if aging itself is something shameful. Talk to your doctor about perimenopause or menopause symptoms, and you might hear, "It's just part of getting older."

The Wake-Up Call

It started when I turned 50. I walked into Sephora looking for solutions to my changing skin, and the sales associate looked right past me to help the younger woman behind me.

That's when it hit me: To the beauty industry, women over 40 are invisible.

Margaret had a similar experience at 55. After spending $300/month on premium skincare, she realized she was paying luxury prices just to feel seen. "Cat," she said, "there has to be a better way for women like us."
